URGENSI PENGEMBANGAN EVALUASI PEMBELAJARAN PADA SATUAN PENDIDIKAN VOKASI: STUDI DI KELAS X SMK MA’ARIF NU 1 WANGON

Learning evaluation plays a crucial role as a compass in determining the direction and quality of vocational education, particularly in assessing students' readiness during the transition phase in grade X. However, evaluation practices in the field are often conventional and have not been able to comprehensively capture students' authentic competencies. This study aims to analyze the vital role and impact of developing learning evaluation at SMK Ma’arif NU 1 Wangon, specifically for grade X. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. Data were collected through observation of the learning process, in-depth interviews with subject teachers, and documentation analysis of the evaluation instruments used by the school. The results showed that developing learning evaluations through the diversification of instruments based on authentic assessment and the utilization of digital platforms significantly increased the engagement and learning motivation of grade X students. Furthermore, structured evaluation development provides more accurate feedback for educators to conduct data-driven instructional improvements. The conclusion of this study confirms that learning evaluation development is not merely an administrative measurement tool, but an instrumental strategy in improving the quality of education at SMK Ma’arif NU 1 Wangon since the students' first year of vocational education.
