In general, in Indonesia, Arabic is considered a foreign language that is taught. Variations in the educational background of students who take part in the Arabic Language Education Study Program at the Indonesian University of Education have an impact on the level of difficulty during the process of learning and understanding Arabic. With diverse educational backgrounds, each Arabic Language Education Study Program student faces different obstacles. Some of those who come from Islamic boarding schools or Madrasah Aliyah may be accustomed to learning and using Arabic, so students who come from public schools may feel left behind and need to catch up. The aim of this research is to reveal differences in educational backgrounds that influence the problems and obstacles faced by students of the Arabic Language Education Study Program in learning Arabic with different educational backgrounds. This research used a qualitative descriptive method and involved students from the Arabic Language Education Study Program at the Prof. State Islamic University. K.H. Saifuddin Zuhri Purwokerto class of 2021 as resource person.
